TO GET TO UZES:
- Uzes
is well-connected by road: The two major autoroutes (motorways)
are the A7 from the North and the A9 going East West). It is possible
to drive from the channel tunnel or the ferry terminals in Northern
France, down to Uzes in a day, but we prefer to break the journey
and stay a night en route someway in the middle of France. For information
on crossing the channel, go to www.eurotunnel.com, or www.brittany-ferries.com

- The A9/E4 from the South-West: If
you are driving to the area on the A9 (which is a toll road), travel
to Junction 25, at Nimes. Pay the toll, and go North on the N106, which
will be signposted to Ales (do not confuse this with Arles which is
in the opposite direction). Continue on the N106 for about 22 kms then
turn right towards Moussac. Travel East out of Moussac on the D982
towards Arpaillargues & Uzes. The D982
goes right into Uzes after about 19 kms.
Travel time to Uzes from the A9 is about 25 minutes.
- On the A7/E1 from the North: Coming from the direction of Lyon, exit the A7 onto the A9 at Junction 21,
near Orange. Continue South about 28kms on the A9/E4 to Junction 23 at Remoulin. Join the N100 towards
Remoulin and then follow the signs to Uzes, which will take you around Remoulin and past the Pont du Gard
and onto the D981, which takes you straight into Uzes. Travel time from Remoulin is about 25 minutes.
- On the A7 or A8 from the East: If you are driving from the Cote d’Azur area on the A7or A8, go past Marseille
and the junction of the two autoroutes and exit at Salon-de-Provence, Junction 27. Take the A54/E80 past Arles
towards Nimes.
- From Nimes/Garons Airport: Head North on the A54-E80, (which is a toll road), for about 8 kms, to the
junction with the A9/E4. Pay the toll (less than 1€), and go North on the N 106, which will be signposted to
Ales (do not confuse this with Arles which is in the opposite direction). Continue on the N 106 for about 22 kms
then turn right towards Moussac. Travel East out of Moussac on the D982 towards Arpaillargues & Uzes. The D982
goes right into Uzes after about 19 kms. Travel time to Uzes is about 40 minutes.
- From Montpelier Airport: Head North out of the airport on the D66 for about 3 kms to the junction of the
A9-E15-E80. Turn East on this toll road (direction Nimes Marseille), and travel to Junction 25, which is about
42 kms. Pay the toll, and go North on the N106. Continue on the N 106 for about 22 kms then turn right
towards Moussac. Travel East out of Moussac on the D982 towards Arpaillargues & Uzes. The D982 goes right
into Uzes after about 19 kms. Travel time to Uzes is about 1.5 hours.
- From Avignon (train): Head West out of the town on the N100 (direction Remoulins Nimes) for about 22 kms.
Turn right (North) on the N101 and, after 2 kms, turn left on the D981, which brings you into Uzes after 17 kms.
